RUGBY AIRPORT
FACT OR FICTION?
- FACT: The proposed airport would carry approximately
64 million passengers a year – Birmingham
currently carries about 8 million.
- FACT: Pollution (NO2) and noise levels within our area
would be significantly above recommended EU
levels.
- FACT: The predicted activity level is a take-off or
landing ever 30 seconds – night and day passing
overhead at around 200/300ft.
- FACT: 3500 acres of green belt land would be lost when the airport is built.
- FACT: The values of properties are ALREADY impacted
by the proposals; the long-term effect could be
extremely adverse.
- FACT: This airport is seen as a better environmental
option than extending Birmingham or any of the
South East airports (i.e. Heathrow & Stansted).
FICTION: THIS AIRPORT IS NOT A SERIOUS PROPOSAL
AND WILL NEVER BE BUILT.
